Get to know Priscilla Shin.

I am Priscilla, a passionate and experienced counsellor who has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults. My approach is relational, relaxed, and real and I bring a warm, empathetic presence to my sessions.

Priscilla Holistic Health Care Center

I have journeyed with clients who have sought support for emotional issues and mental health conditions since 2014.

Through therapy and support, my clients have worked through complex emotional issues and mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, grief and loss, suicidal tendencies, emotional dysregulation, trauma, abuse, and fragile self-esteem. I have also helped clients to gain insight when they have felt stuck in life, or needed support to navigate through challenging events.

In my sessions, I incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities, depending on the individual needs of each client. I am a firm believer in having a wide range of tools in my counselling toolbox, and as a result, I am constantly in learning mode.

I am a strong advocate for empowering others through education, and have presented numerous talks and workshops on topics such as suicide risk assessment and crisis management, stress management, mental health and wellness issues.

When I’m not working, you will either find me in a playground with my husband and two children, or in a corner of my home with a book in my hands.

Get to know Naliny Krishnan.

I am Liny, a passionate and experienced Counsellor who has worked extensively with children, adolescents, adults and elderly. Working with SPF and Ministry of Manpower (MOM), I have also counselled the distressed female foreign domestic workers (FDWs) and managed the Centre for Domestic Employees and conducted various programmes for the domestic workers such as dance, sewing, and art classes. I have also provided basic mental health assessments to evaluate psychological stability, and has engaged external services from the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in referring the domestic workers for further assessments.

Naliny Psychotherapist

I have also volunteered at Nightingale Home, counselled elderly residents and identified cases of abused individuals within the home. My specialisation in family therapy and training in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is grounded in my distinction in counselling research processes while in Swinburne. I have also completed training courses from the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and family conflict management/mediation training at Eagles Mediation & Counselling Centre (EMCC).

I first gained my counselling experience at the Family Service Centre (MSF), where I worked with clients with a multitude of concerns including Interpersonal Issues, Depression, Low Self-Esteem, Anger Issues, Couple Issues, Family Conflicts, Trauma, Self-Harm and Abuse cases. I have also conducted couple and parenting talks for my clients to help address the difficulties they may face with regards to the responsibilities of such roles. I later went on to further my experience as a school counsellor, where I conducted parenting talks, art therapy, smoking cessation programmes and counselled at-risk youths.

This has inspired my strong passion for working with vulnerable children and adolescents. Through conducting home visits for cases self-harm cases and abuse, I actively monitored the well-being of such at-risk populations, and remains committed to helping those who are not able to seek adequate help. I have also collaborated with many external agencies such as Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), hospitals, and Singapore Police Force (SPF) to better regulate the systemic safety nets for such youths. I believe in making a difference in their lives, thus providing simple and effective coping strategies to better manage the daily challenges they may face. For children and adolescents with a history of direct trauma-related events, I practice a trauma-informed approach centred around art therapy. This empowers my younger, and sometimes less verbal, clients to communicate through art as a medium of expression. I thoroughly believe in adapting different therapeutic approaches to each individual’s needs and challenges, and am dedicated to the process of uplifting clients as opposed to problem-solving issues.

When I’m not working, I will be either playing with my son or looking at YouTube to try out new tasty recipes for my son.
