Clinical Psychologist
Get to know Ping Qi.
I am Ping Qi, an experienced Clinical Psychologist who is passionate in helping others find emotional wellness from a holistic approach.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the National University of Singapore, and then my Masters in Psychology at New York University. During my time in the United States, I gained valuable experience providing psychological assessment and therapy to a diverse population. Upon my return to Singapore, I have worked with clients in the public service and community sectors for 10 years, focusing on providing psychotherapy to children, youths, adults, and families. I have also provided clinical consultation and supervision to professionals in community sectors, enhancing their clinical skills and practice. I also serve as a lecturer at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) where I am deeply committed to nurturing and sharing the next generation of mental health professionals.
Despite my clinical background, I experienced personal challenges of motherhood and faced many difficulties when adjusting to my new role as a mother. This led me to recognise the lack of specialised services provided by trained professionals for mothers. I went for further training and became the first Singaporean Psychologist to be certified in Perinatal Mental Health by Postpartum Support International. Drawing on my unique blend of professional expertise as a psychologist and personal experiences as a mother, I am dedicated to empower women and mothers. I strive to help mothers rediscover themselves, navigate their new roles, and provide them with the necessary tools to become the parents they aspire to me.
My interests extend beyond psychology as I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with specialised training to work with pre/post-natal clients and children. This holistic approach aligns with my passion for promoting overall wellness with my clients. My personal life revolves around my family, including two young-age children and my Corgi. I find grounding in activities such as traveling and sewing.
